A milk tea known as Teh Tarik is a simple yet flavorful beverage popular in Malaysia. Generally found in coffee shops, kopitiams, Indian Muslim Mamaks, and other Muslim eateries, Teh Tarik is consumed constantly throughout the day. It is consumed every minute of every day. In Malaysia, teh Tarik is also the official drink of football fans, even if it may seem strange. It is almost as popular in Malaysia as beer is in the USA or Europe.
Teh Tarik translates to "pulled tea." In this case, Teh is tea, and Tarik is pulling. As its name suggests, it is named after its unique preparation for pulling, which is an art and a form of showmanship. There seems to be no way to spill a drop of tea, as it is poured from one pitcher to another as high as possible, without having ever spilled one.
Teh Tarik is characterized by the frothy and light texture that results from this pulling process. In addition, it gives the drink a better flavor and makes sure that the tea and condensed milk are thoroughly mixed together. In addition to its deep integration into Malaysian culture, teh Tarik has been recognized as a contributing factor to Malaysia's Food Heritage.
Teh Tarik is not only popular in Malaysia, but it is also enjoyed across the world, including Singapore, Thailand, and France. Today let's make tiny teh tarik in our tiny kitchen and have a lot of fun!

Because I grew up in a non-drinking family, the drink of choice was tea, and it remains the same till this day. Just like here in Taiwan, where everyone starts with a "cup of tea?"
